South Gladstone has a lot of High Density blocks that in boom times have been developed into small townhouse complexes. South Gladstone hosts a South Gladstone Primary School and a few little shopping complexes, it is in close proximity to Gladstone CBD.

South Gladstone started to grow in the 60’s-70’s with more homes being built as workers were close by to QAL.

South Gladstone’s population in the 2011 Census was 3626 with the median/average age being 36 years old.

21.4% of homes are fully owned, and 29% are in the process of being purchased by home loan mortgage. 46.5% of homes are rented.
