Charmaine Eyre-Thompson is a versatile, community-focused professional with over 30 years’ experience spanning public service, education, tourism, and event management. She brings strong organisational skills, customer service expertise, and attention to detail to a fast-paced property environment—supporting clients and agents with professionalism and care.
Raised in Boyne Island, she began her career in public service, progressing through roles in executive support, training, and systems supervision. Over time, she has brought her strong administrative and interpersonal skills to a variety of sectors, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to excellence across diverse professional environments.
Charmaine’s international experience includes teaching English in Italy and working in tourism in England and Ireland, enhancing her intercultural communication and adaptability. Locally, she worked as a snorkel guide, hostess and deckhand on the Great Barrier Reef, delivering memorable tourism experiences.
She led marketing and promotions at a local radio station, developing advertising strategies, coordinating live events, and building strong stakeholder relationships. She also designed and launched full-scale marketing campaigns, including branding and launch events for new ventures.
Her regional tourism and events work includes managing Visitor Information Centres, destination marketing, memberships and serving as a chair person on the committee for the award-winning 1770 Festival. She has also contributed as a volunteer managing sponsorships, promotions, and funding for the Calliope Christmas Carols Committee.
Charmaine holds a Bachelor of Tourism (Communications major) and is completing a Diploma in Counselling. Certified in yoga instruction, swim coaching, lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR, she enjoys travel, writing, yoga, and the arts. With family values at her core and a passion for connection, she brings energy, warmth, and purpose to every opportunity, thriving in community-focus interactions that foster growth and impact
