Stage 1 and 2 of Forest Springs nears completion

By Andrew Allen

Stages 1 and 2 of Forest Springs

Completion of stage 1 and 2 of Gladstone’s most livable residential community is imminent.

Construction of the ‘Banksia’ Neighbourhood commenced in December 2011 and is scheduled for completion in July 2012. This stage comprises 111 residential lots, roads, paths and a landscaped park.

The flat blocks are complete and road works and infrastructure for water, sewer and stormwater are now being finished.

A key milestone in the development of the Masterplanned estate was completion of the Dixon Drive extension. The Dixon Drive bridge and the

extension of Dixon Dr to Kirkwood Rd was completed and opened in April 2012. This now provides a convenient link from the Forest Springs community to the Sun Valley/Telina schools, shops and other amenities as well as providing alternative routes to the CBD and airport. It will also provide convenient access to the Woolworths Kirkwood centre which opened in April.

Forest Springs and Gladstone residents are excited that the brand new Woolworths Kirkwood centre is already buzzing with happy shoppers. The centre contains a brand new Woolworths Grocery store plus Woolworths Petrol Station and numerous specialty stores including BWS (Beer Wine & Spirits), a medical centre and pharmacy, a bakery, Indian restaurant and ladies fashion store.

Soon to open will be a Chinese restaurant, newsagent and further plans are underway for a gym and 3 fast food restaurants. Fronting both Kirkwood Rd and the brand new extension of Dixon Drive the Woolworths Kirkwood centre will provide convenient and enjoyable shopping amenities for all of Gladstone but particularly for residents of the Forest Springs community.
